Friends or Plaistow Recreation Purchased Museum Pass

The Friends of the Plaistow Recreation have purchased a pass for Imjine That. This is an interactive educational playspace founded by a group of parents who were searching for a better entertainment option for their children. The pass admits 4 children and 3 adults without charge.

Now, you can see the available dates for museum passes and make reservations right from the web! All you need is your Plaistow library card number and a PIN/Password. Check out all the information by clicking here.

The Summer Reading Program Rewards from Topsfield Fair have arrived!! Children, who participated in the Plaistow Library's summer program may pick up their packets at the Library. The program is for children 4 years of age to 6th grade. Children over eight receive an enterance pass, a coupon for a hot dog and soda,two coupons for rides, and a ribbon. Children under eight are addmited free but recieve the rest of the packet.

Director Position

The Plaistow Public Library is seeking candidates for the position of Library Director.  Plaistow is a small community in southern New Hampshire with a modern, active, community focused public library.  Click here for more details.

Author Event

Kick-off for the four week program, "Indian Culture and Cuisine."

Susan Oleksiw will speak about her book set in India. Tina Shah will demonstrate Indian Cooking. The series will run September 30, October 7th, 14th, and 21st. You are welcome to attend all or some of the classes. Susan's books will be available at the library.

Story Hours Begin

Family Story Hour will begin at 6:30 in the craft room on September 7th. It will continue on the first Tuesday of the month, through December. We will learn seasonal rhymes and read some good stories. Children are welcome to come in their PJs. Please register for this event by calling the library or by clicking on the calendar on the top of this page.

Day time story hours will begin on September 13th. Classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays. The session will be the same.

Baby Lap Sit 9:30-10:00 Birth -24 Months
Toddler Time 10:15-11:00 2 and 3 Years of Age
Preschool 1:00-2:00 4 and 5 Years of Age

Book Clubs

The Crime and Culinary Society meets the first Thursday of the month at 11:00am in the history room. The group reads mysteries and share recipes from the books. All are Welcome to join.

The Teen book club will have an organizational meeting Tuesday September 14th at 6:30pm in the teen area.

People have been asking for an evening adult book club. The Plaistow Library Book Club will meet the 4th Tuesday of the month. The first selection is Still Alice by Lisa Genova.

Crafts

Lorraine McNulty of Stamp'n Up will teach a class on card making the third Tuesday of each month. The Class will begin at 7:00pm and will be held in the craft room. Registration is required. Sign up at the library or by clicking on the calendar link on this page.
