Temporary/ Online-only Cards
As long as the Library is closed during the current pandemic, any individual who resides in or pays taxes to the Town of Plaistow may obtain a temporary library card by filling out this form: https://forms.gle/ym1n6z6vBKTqzCXQ8. Note that we are closed on weekends and we will process your application on Monday.
Use this card to access all of the digital content we provide (ebooks, e-audiobooks, music, online learning tools, research platforms, and more): https://plaistowlibrary.com/resources.asp.
Temporary Card FAQ
I already have a Plaistow Public Library card. Do I also need an online library card number to access the library's digital content?
No. Your current library card number already has access to all PPL digital content.
How long is this card good for?
Temporary cards are currently set to expire on May 15, 2020. This date may change depending on circumstances (e.g., we open before then or remain closed for an extended period of time).
Can I apply for my child’s card online?
Yes. For children under 14, a parent or guardian must consent and complete the online application form.
Can I add the name of someone else who can have access to my account?
No, however, they can apply for their own card online.
I’ve lost my online library card number. What should I do?
Please email or call us at 382-6011 or firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll see what we can do to help.

Can I purchase a non-resident temporary library card?
Not at this time.

Any individual who resides in, teaches in, or owns property in Plaistow may obtain a library card simply by providing appropriate identification at the Library's front desk (proof of residency, property ownership, etc)
These cards are free-of-charge and may be renewed annually, provided that the cardholder continues to reside in, teach in, or own property in Plaistow.
Any individual not eligible for a resident card may obtain a library card by paying a fee comparable to the annual tax amount that Plaistow residents pay in support of the Library. These cards currently cost $65 and remain valid for one year, entitling the bearer to all the same services and materials as resident cardholders.
Patrons must present their library cards or valid ID in order to check out.
